Mestis (Yugoslavia)

In the 1970s, the Soviet export market was booming, and strong demand for both fully-assembled watches and independent watch movements stemmed from countries all over the world. The Vilnius Watch Factory, active between 1970 and 1985, was one such company relying on Soviet movements to power their watches. The First Moscow Watch Factory exported two calibers (2409 and 2414) to Vilnius to be assembled with cases, dials, and other components made in-house at the factory in Lithuania. This brand was marketed throughout the Baltic and Eastern European regions, including the former Yugoslavia.
